Maybe somebody should write a book about this very theme, "The sanction of the victim."

Oh wait somebody did. Her name was Ayn Rand and she introduced it to the world as 'Atlas Shrugged' 69 years ago. Maybe some day enough of us will actually heed those words snd put a stop to all of this evil. It seems hard to believe, but that is all it would take. Stop giving the moral high ground to the bad guys. Give them their just desserts, and keep giving it to them until they change their ways or are gone.

This is an excellent piece and its goes to the heart of the problem Israel has when conducting its wars. I wrote an angry comment on LinkedIn denouncing my Canadian Prime Minister's statement protesting Israel's treatment of the flotilla hooligans, which was reproduced by the new Jewish leader of the left-wing NDP in Canada, but of course the issue is much bigger, as you so rightly point out. When will we learn? People love to dump on Ben-Gvir and through him on Israel. But who stood up for Israel here if not Ben-Gvir? Jews need to rethink their priorities, to say the least. Thank you for writing this piece.

I've watched a lot of American police body cam footage of people resisting arrest after shoplifting, speeding, suspicion of drunk driving, etc. Even in America, what happens when you resist arrest isn't pretty, and I would not advise it.

These people got off easy.

Thank you for defining the problem accurately. You told it like it is.

Apparently, you can take the Jew out of the ghetto, but not the ghetto out of the Jew. We are treated to diplomatic tuchus lekking.

The problem is how to get the government to act like any other self-respecting government would in similar circumstances.

I agree with this essay, although I think Ben gvir is an idiot causing trouble for no reason. I would like to suggest the next time this happens, Israel put all the prisoners on a bus and drop them off at the yellow line and let the gazans deal with these idiots.

They will be cheered at, praised as martyrs and provided with guns and weapons for the next October 07.

When I do nothing by far similar to what Ben-Gvir did, i.e. when I just roam around completely peacefully in any German town or another European country with an Israeli flag, button a.o., I immediately get spat at, called names, hear insults, get physically attacked, hear "Free P*lestine" from dozens of types I´ve never met before to which I haven´t said any word.

If they could they would kill me.

I haven´t seen any "journalist" or "Israel Critic" as of yet who issues an order or an unequivocal statement directed at the `P´-supporters.

In comparison to that, Ben-Gvirs behaviour is understandable or at least not worse than the daily behaviour of "P*lestine" friends which they perform without any cause - not against any of the 57 Islamistic rogue states but against Israel.
