It's Now Or Never!
Israel's golden opportunity to finally achieve peace in the Middle East and to avoid a second holocaust
(Missles interceptions above the Israeli parliament building in Jerusalem)
In the early hours of this morning, at around 2 AM, my country was attacked by a swarm of hundreds of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones. This attack originated in Iran. It was launched as a “punishment” against Israel’s attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria, which led to the killing of a high-ranking general. The attack was anticipated and monitored from the moment it was launched. Almost all of the objects the Iranians launched were intercepted by the US, the UK, Jordan, and the various Israeli air defence systems.
Iran is an Islamic theocracy whose main purpose when it comes to its global aspirations is to destroy the state of Israel. It is indeed not a secret that the Iranians wish to eliminate the so-called “zionist entity”. The Iranian regime is investing billions of dollars into its missile and nuclear programme. The goal of their nuclear programme is very clear: they wish to blow up Israel into radioactive ashes. That is, to do another holocaust.
Although this is a well-established fact, the country of Iran was never formally attacked by Israel; there were many instances of “mysterious” explosions around various places in Iran; these explosions have always been attributed to Israel, but Israel never took responsibility. This Iranian strike marks a historic turning point, where the conflict between the two nations is more explicit than ever before. Never in history has Iran attacked Israel directly from Iranian soil. This attack makes it harder than ever before to evade the fact that Israel and Iran are bound by their nature to collide. So long as Iran’s regime stays the way it is, and so long as Israel wishes to survive, this collision is unavoidable.
This evasion, where Israel and the Western world evade Iran’s intentions, also happened in the 1930s when Hitler’s intentions were very obvious to anyone who would have listened to his speeches and read his book. But that didn’t stop the free world, led by the former British empire, from appeasing him. The results of this have been catastrophic to the world as a whole and to the Jewish people in particular.
This attack has made the fact that Iran’s regime exists for the sake of destroying Israel even more obvious. I don’t know how it could possibly be more evident than it is now. Despite that, the immediate response of the country that leads the free world today, the United States of America, is to declare that it doesn’t seek any further escalation and that Israel should be content with the fact that 99% of the attack has been successfully intercepted.
This is perhaps the worst call for evasion ever pronounced in recent history. It’s evasion because the Americans fail to understand Iran’s nature and that this attack is only a prelude and much bigger attacks with nuclear warheads are imminent. It’s also altruistic because they argue that Israel should be happy that it wasn’t destroyed; therefore, all is fine; It’s a sacrifice of the future for the sake of the present.
The virtue the Americans preach for is “descelation”, which is a laundry term for “appeasement”. The Iranians want Israel to turn the other cheek, so the Americans must force Israel into capitulating to the Iranians. Otherwise, things will escalate, we might have a broader conflict, America might be forced into doing the world, and finally, ridding the world of one of the worst, most evil regimes in the world. According to the Americans, that doesn’t seem to be a good thing.
The fact that Israel has such incredible missile defence capabilities is a double-edged blade: If those missiles had hit their targets and Israeli blood had been spilt, then it would have been much more challenging for the Americans to attempt to force Israel not to respond.
If the Israelis would respond and attack the Iranian nuclear programme and other high-value targets, ideally with the goal of toppling that awful regime, then it would save so many more lives than going by appeasement, capitulation and cowardice.
The Iranians have made it clear that they aren’t afraid to attack, and they aren’t afraid of the Americans, despite Biden’s “Don’t” The Iranians also made it clear that they have the ability and the confidence to strike, regardless of how pathetic the result was, the threat is real. These were only 300+ missiles and drones, imagine thousands upon thousands, not to mention the likely joint venture with Iran’s proxies in Iraq and Lebanon. Israel is under an existential threat, evading that fact, will only cause further harm. Churchill’s quote couldn’t have been more relevant:
“We seem to be very near the bleak choice between War and Shame. My feeling is that we shall choose Shame, and then have War thrown in a little later on even more adverse terms than at present.” - Winston Churchill
Israel’s war with Iran is as imminent as Germany’s war with Poland in 1939. We must choose. Are we to wait for the Iranians to strike at ideal terms, when they will also be armed with weapons of mass destruction, or are we to strike first?
I’ve mentioned the US here as the modern-day appeaser of evil worldwide. Still, the fact that Israel has allowed things to come this far also reveals Israel as a massive appeaser, not only when it comes to Iran, of course, but also with Palestine and the rest of its numerous enemies.
It’s not easy, of course; there are many international pressures, and war with Iran is a very challenging proposition, but this is what must be done for us to avoid a second Holocaust.
Even if Israel’s demise is inevitable, which I don’t believe to be the case, it should go down fighting, like the brave people of the Warsaw ghetto uprising in 1943. But unlike those heroes, Israel has far better weaponry, and its people are much more motivated. So once we stop evading and finally strike back, I believe we have a very good chance of defeating Iran.
Israel must realise that this is a golden opportunity that it cannot afford not to realise. It’s either now or in a year or two with a nuclear Iran. The ball is in Israel’s court. Hopefully, the good people of Israel and its leaders will finally understand that it’s now or never.

I greatly enjoy your thinking. I also love your appreciation of Caspar David Friedrich. Thought I was alone on that. :-) I love his Above the Sea of Fog so much I put it on the cover of my book (Life Savor: Treasuring Our Gift of Life). Keep up the great work! Erik Victor Reed
Iran's action was no accident, it was intentional. It doesn't matter that it failed or why. It is the intent that counts. Israel is now morally obligated to respond by destroying Iran's nuclear facilities and oil refineries.
