🎨 Event Announcement: A Guided Tour of Bruegel's Reality — Vienna, April 29
“Welcome to the Desert of the Real” – A Bruegel Tour with Yonatan Daon
On Tuesday, April 29 at 12:00 PM, I’ll be leading a guided tour at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, focusing on the world of Pieter Bruegel the Elder—the painter who brought art down to earth.
The museum holds one of the most important Bruegel collections in the world, including masterpieces like:
The Peasant Wedding
The Hunters in the Snow
The Tower of Babel
The Fight Between Carnival and Lent
Children’s Games
The Return of the Herd
These are works I explored in my essay, Welcome to the Desert of the Real: The Art of Pieter Bruegel the Elder—and now we’ll see them together, in person, and in depth.
Bruegel wasn’t interested in flattering the divine. He was interested in revealing the secular truth of human life—its beauty, ugliness, humour, hardship, and grandeur.

This won’t be a formal lecture. It’s a shared experience of deep observation. Whether you're into philosophy, art, or just curious to know why Bruegel still matters—this tour is for you.
Let’s go see what it means to depict the desert of the real—and why that’s worth celebrating.
See you there,
Yonatan

Been there in KHM in 2016. Remarkable and recommended, and Wien is a beauty, too bad can't join you on the location now with Bruegel in advance.
