Today, I was a bit sick, so I had to spend some time working from home, which allowed me to fill my day with beautiful music. First, I would like to share with you some recommendations, and I have some introspections that I would like to share with you about the effect that the music had on my day.
Firstly I would like to mention the beautiful Rachmaninoff's 4th Piano Concerto, which is unfortunately often overshadowed by the great 3rd and 2nd.
I would also like to recommend checking out Horowitz's performance of Rachmaninoff's 3rd, which I also enjoyed listening to today.
After listening to all 3 Concertos and after spending some more time working, I listened to Wagner's well known Rienzi Overture.
This was then followed by Schumann's 3rd symphony:
As I write this post, I listen to one of my favourites: Wagner's Prelude and Liebstod from Tristan und Isolde.
I don't know much about music. I only know that I feel so much better when I am really focusing on it. I highly recommend that you try to listen to at least one whole work every day. I can assure you that it will indeed make your day better. The emotional ecstasy that I get with Rachmaninoff’s 2nd and 3rd is almost unmatched by anything else.
Try to think and see how you can incorporate more beauty into your daily life. Even very small things like a new painting in your room, listening to great music, and wearing beautiful clothes, can really make a difference.
Be Beauty Oriented.
Surround yourself with beauty anywhere you can. It doesn't have to be expensive. For example, all the most beautiful music in human history is available for free on youtube. Start with at least one a day and see.
The Aesthetics Decentralized episode with Nicolas helped me realise how great music truly is, so if you have yet to check it out, I cannot recommend it enough.
